Session Description: This session will discuss current trends and profitability impacts of providing GLP-1s and vaccines in the retail pharmacy setting.
Session Objectives:
- Identify variables driving growth or decline in these dispensing categories inside retail pharmacies.
- Recognize the business impact that GLP-1s are having on both the diabetes medication category and other secondary purchase categories.
- Discuss how vaccines can contribute to the bottom line of your pharmacy business.
Bio: Greg Mitchell is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in board governance and management. He began his pharmacy career as a certified pharmacy technician before becoming the owner and operator of United Drug Superstore in Hatch, New Mexico, in 1991. Over the years, he has played a key role in industry leadership, serving on multiple boards, including United Drugs, where he held positions such as Secretary, Vice President, President and Chairman. He currently serves on the board of AlignRx.
Beyond pharmacy, Greg has successfully expanded into various business ventures, including a Radio Shack franchise and grocery retail. His background also includes serving as Purchasing Manager at Tricolor Corporation.
Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in production and operations management from New Mexico State University. His strategic leadership and business expertise continue to drive growth and innovation within the pharmacy industry and beyond.
